Ocean Breeze Dachshunds
Shipping and home delivery>
Our Shipping Policies:
- Puppies will not be shipped before 10 weeks of age no exceptions.
All my puppies come with a Florida Health Certificate including
puppies that are scheduled to fly.
- Shipping has to be prepaid before leaving to their new home. Once
payment is received I will get a list of flights on different days and
times and we can decide what will work best for both of us.I will
schedule the flight and confirm with you.
- Final payment plus shipping costs ($250.00 on average) must be
made by 7 weeks of age and can be made by personal check (this is
the only case other than initial deposit in which I accept personal
check payments & this is strictly for puppies flying out only!) This
check must clear the bank before I book flight.
- We can ship 2 puppies together in the same crate for an extra fee of
$50.00 as long as they come under the weight limit (9 pounds)
- We ship through Continental airlines only out of Jacksonville Florida
- We do NOT ship puppies to destinations outside the 48 continental
United States
- During extreme hot or cold temperatures, flight arrangements may
take a week or more, due to limited times when temperatures are
conducive.

"Happy & healthy puppies to enrich your life!"
* Why can't you ship me my puppy at 8 weeks? * I do understand the excitement and thrill of having a puppy ASAP but my main concern is the overall heath and safety of each individual puppy. Our puppies are shipped when they are mature and confident enough to safely change their environment - not when the calendar says they are old enough. Some ARE ready at 8 weeks but some are not. I anticipate only shipping maybe 1 or 2 from a litter, the others will be picked up from our home locally. Allowing an extra 2 weeks of being away from their siblings and spending some time gaining confidence will greatly benefit them in their flight experience. I do this as an extra effort taken to familiarize your pet with the airline crate so that your puppy will arrive to you safe, healthy and happy. (Thank you for your understanding)

We always prefer you pick up your puppy however delivery within the state of Florida or shipping threw Continental Airlines is also available at buyers expense.

Costs of air transportation:
The costs of flying a puppy to you are not included in the
purchase price of the dog. We try to fly with Continental as much
as possible, though our main concern is using the most direct
flight available, with no more than one connecting flight.
Average costs are:
Air transportation: $200.00
Crate: $30.00
My fuel and airport parking $20.00

Total: $250.00
*Please note this is the estimated cost shipping a typical
Dachshund puppy during normal weather conditions.
Picking your puppy up at the airport is a very
important event for both you and your puppy. You'll
want to be prepared for your puppy's arrival, and
your new baby will be very happy to see you.
We hope this page helps you to be prepared and to
know what to expect when you go to get your
puppy.
Expect a wait at the airport. We require you to be there at the
time your puppy's plane lands because some airports work more
quickly than others. Most people have a wait of 20-45 minutes
after the plane lands before they are able to retrieve their puppy.
It takes time to get the puppy off the plane and to the pick up
location. So, we know you're anxious to see your new baby, but
please be patient.
As soon as you've got these preliminary things finished, please, please call us at 904-377-5107 and let us know that you've got him and all is well.
We love them, and it's important to us to know that you have your puppy and all is well.

List of things that need to be taken to airport to pick
up your new baby:
You'll want to be well prepared when you pick your puppy up.
- Make sure you have your picture ID. The airlines will not
release the puppy to you without an ID.
- Puppy bathing wipes, or baby wet wipes in case your puppy
has had an accident and needs to be cleaned up. Please
clean puppy right away and dry him.
- A blanket or towel. You'll want to take your puppy out of
the crate and hold him, and often wrapping a blanket
around them makes them feel more secure in a new setting.
- A tube of Nutri-Cal or similar product. Give you puppy
some as soon as he comes out of his crate and it will help
him to keep his nutrients in while he's adjusting to his new
surroundings. Offer food and water right away. I will tape a
bag of food to the top of the crate but do not be surprised
if he is not interested in eating, offer the Nutri-Cal.

Take your puppy home for rest, do NOT take them around to
show them off. Shipping can be stressful and your puppy
needs rest in a quiet place for the rest of the day and to adjust
to it's new surroundings. Besides, you want to get to know
your new baby and let them get to know you.
I cannot arrange the flight more than a week in advance, so please be patient. This is the airline rules, not mine. I will email you flight information directly after I make the arrangements
